Lyon College’s Six Tennis Courts Get a Full Surface Refresh

Location:
Batesville, AR
Facility Type:
Tennis Court
Challenge:
Lyon College’s six tennis courts, four concrete and two asphalt, needed significant surface repairs. The courts had cracking, standing water on the asphalt courts and minor concrete spalling. Dirt and debris had also built up in the channels beneath the nets.
Solution:
Our crew completed 2,471 linear feet of crack repair, corrected low spots and standing water, and repaired the deteriorated areas beneath the nets. We replaced the net posts and tie-down anchors on the four concrete courts, then resurfaced all six courts with an acrylic resurfacer and two color coats in blue and green, followed by fresh tennis striping.
Mixing concrete and asphalt courts took different repair approaches, but the result is a more consistent playing environment. The college’s tennis program now has courts that look and play far better.
