What Southern Heat and Rain Do to Courts and Tracks

Heat and water wear down Southern courts and tracks. Summer sun fades color coatings. Expansive clay soils shift as they wet and dry, which opens cracks, and storms leave standing water wherever drainage is poor. Moisture and algae can make a worn surface slick.

Repairs come first. At DeRidder High School in Louisiana, the courts were structurally sound but needed crack repairs and touch-ups where power washing had exposed bare concrete, so we patched problem areas, filled cracks, and applied the Nova Sports color coating system to all four courts.

Our own crews did that work, as they do on every Southern job.

“We use our own crews. Once you start subbing stuff out, you lose control.”

Acrylic coatings can’t go down below 60°F or on a damp surface, and nights need to stay at 60°F or above too. Rain and cool nights can both add days, so book the assessment early and leave room in the calendar.

Tennis Courts We’ve Resurfaced in Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama

We’ve resurfaced seven tennis courts at Kimery Park in Hot Springs, Arkansas, six at Bay High School in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, and four at Parkers Chapel High School in El Dorado, Arkansas. The four courts at DeRidder High School in Louisiana and the six tennis courts at Corinth Parks & Rec in Mississippi have full project pages below.

Every tennis job starts with an on-site assessment. See what tennis court resurfacing involves and how long it takes.

Pickleball Court Projects in Arkansas and Mississippi

For Corinth Parks & Rec in Mississippi, we resurfaced and restriped 12 pickleball courts and six tennis courts and installed six new bolt-down pickleball net post systems. At Bell Park in Greenwood, Arkansas, we resurfaced the concrete court surface with a new acrylic color system and striped it for pickleball and basketball. In Hot Springs, we added pickleball lines to the resurfaced tennis courts at Kimery Park and Family Park, so both sports share the space.

Running Track Projects in Mississippi, Alabama, and Arkansas

At George County High School in Lucedale, Mississippi, we removed the old base mat, installed a new one, applied a structural spray system, and restriped the entire eight-lane, 400-meter track, including the runways, high jump area, and chute. We’ve also done running track work in Homewood and Bremen, Alabama, and Newport, Arkansas.

See what running track resurfacing involves, from crack repair to a structural spray or a full new mat.

Where We Work, State by State

Arkansas is where we’ve done the most Southern work: seven tennis courts at Kimery Park and two at Family Park in Hot Springs, four at Parkers Chapel High School in El Dorado, two for the City of Maumelle, and a pickleball and basketball resurfacing at Bell Park in Greenwood. We’ve also worked on the tennis courts at Lyon College in Batesville, on courts in Little Rock, Conway, Cave City, Vilonia, and Lake City, and on a high school running track in Newport.
